Kansas City Officers Train With New Assault Rifle

"The weapon system that we're using is similar to the military M-16 -- this is the civilian version of it," Firearms Training Section Supervisor Sgt. Ward Smith said. "Our officers now are going to have a weapon that they can stand off a little bit from a dangerous location, assess whatever it might be and still be able to maintain control over that area with a firearm."(cough,cough)
