Michael Yellow Bird, an associate professor of indigenous nations studies at Kansas University, is coming to the defense of Ward Churchill,
Yellow Bird said that the criticism of Churchill is “clearly an academic freedom issue and politically motivated” because the university “had vetted his stuff” before hiring and promoting him — and didn’t find any problems until there was a national political outcry about the 9/11 writings.

KC Tradition - West Terrace Park
Evan Harkins recently created an AMAZING VIDEO regarding the history of West Terrace Park.
This Youtube clip offers a sobering account of how Kansas City has traded so much of its history for the convenience of commuters. If there was ever a parable for local pedestrians, Evan Harkins has created it.
If you care at all about the history of this town, you owe it to yourself to take a look at the clip, send a copy to friends who may find it interesting and tell everybody that TKC found it for you.

The house calls are part of the Colorado State Patrol's effort to curb aggressive driving. The program allows drivers to call a state patrol hot line to report people who are driving aggressively.
Drivers with three complaints or more against them get warning letters, which have always been sent by mail, until now.

Mohamed Atta and the Venice Flying Circus
At the same time the Rev. Jerry Falwell was accusing pagans, abortionists, feminists, gays, lesbians, the ACLU and People For the American Way of sharing responsibility for the 9/11 attack the televangelist owed over one million dollars in unpaid loans to the owner of the terror flight school in Florida which trained Mohamed Atta and Marwan Al-Shehhi... Falwell made no mention, then or ever, of his curious debt to secretive Green Bay financier Wallace J. Hilliard, whose flight school abetted.

Happy Birthday Bob Dylan!
Bob Dylan was slated to make his first nationwide television appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show on May 12, 1963, and intended to perform Talkin' John Birch Paranoid Blues a song he wrote lampooning the John Birch Society and the red-hunting paranoia associated with it.
During the afternoon rehearsal that day, CBS officials told Dylan they had deemed the song unacceptable for broadcast and wanted him If I can't play my song, I'd rather not appear on the show"

"The weapon system that we're using is similar to the military M-16 -- this is the civilian version of it," Firearms Training Section Supervisor Sgt. Ward Smith said. BILL CLINTON TASERED TO DEATH
Bill Clinton, a 6-foot emu on the run nearly a week, died Thursday after Carrboro police captured him outside a nursing home.
The cause of the flightless bird's death was in dispute: The manager of the Orange County Animal Shelter said police Tasered him. But a police spokesman said officers didn't use a Taser stun gun or tranquilizers. He said the bird injured himself as police tried to load him into a truck to take him to the shelter.

Ron Paul: First Bush Was Working Towards New World Order
"The first President Bush said the New World Order was in tune-- and that's what they were working for.
The U.N. is part of that government.
They're working right now very significantly towards a North American Union.
That's why there's a lot of people in Washington right now who don't care too much about our borders. They have a philosophical belief that national sovereignty is not important.
It's also the reason I've made the very strong suggestion the U.S. need not be in the U.N. for national security reasons."

After tornado, FEMA seizes firearms, turns away help
On Friday, May 4, an F5 tornado wiped the town of Greensburg, Kan., almost entirely off the map. The Federal Emergency Management Agency, along with the National Guard and local police from all over Kansas, then systematically kept out relief workers while they went house to house disarming the residents. As you pass by houses in Greensburg, you notice that some are spraypainted with how many weapons were recovered from the home.
