Corporate Deals with the Nazis
GM and Ford, through their subsidiaries, controlled 70 percent of the German automobile market when war broke out in 1939.
Those companies "rapidly retooled themselves to become suppliers of war materiel to the Germany army," writes Michael Dobbs in the Washington Post.
"When American GIs invaded Europe in June 1944, they did so in jeeps, trucks and tanks manufactured by the Big Three motor companies in one of the largest crash militarization programs ever undertaken," observes Dobbs.
"It came as an unpleasant surprise to discover that the enemy was also driving trucks manufactured by Ford and Opel — a 100 percent GM-owned subsidiary — and flying Opel-built warplanes."

Abdelrahman Zeitoun is a Syrian American businessman who spent the days after Katrina paddling around New Orleans in a canoe, saving elderly people
His efforts were brought to a halt when he was detained by the Bush administration on suspicion of being a terrorist.
He was first imprisoned in Camp Greyhound, the makeshift facility at the bus terminal, then moved to the Elayn Hunt CorrectionalFacility in St. Gabriel. Even as his family searched for him from their exile -- first in Baton Rouge, then Arizona -- and his extended family did what they could from Syria and Spain, he was denied contact with them, as well as other civil rights.
A Muslim, he could not eat the pork that was such a large part of the jailhouse diet; when he fell ill, he was denied medical care. Guards called him "al Qaeda" or "Taliban." When Homeland Security later decided that the department was not interested in him, he was charged with looting.

The phrase "Tyranny of the Majority", used in discussing systems of democracy and majority rule,
is a criticism of the scenario in which decisions made by a majority under that system would place that majority's interests so far above a minority's interest that the minority would be actively oppressed.
This essay warns of a second danger to liberty, which democracies are prone to, namely, the tyranny of the majority.

ABC’s John Stossel Destroys Obama’s anti-American Health Care Plan
And this whole health bill thing is going to be about your individual freedom and choices. Smokers, drinkers, dopers, you all are will be the first ones scrutinized followed by obese people and people considered to live unhealthy life styles(including diets). But it will only apply to people who don't have enough money to maintain private medical liability, so once your coverage lapses, for whatever reason and you are forced into the government program, you become under it's control. And as someone else pointed out earlier, refusal to take their vaccinations and treatments will either result in a fine or dropped from the program until compliance.
