Kansas Indian Tribes

Native American Music Blog

The largest gathering place for the Plains Indians was in the loop where the Kansas River met the Missouri River, just east of where now I-635 runs. The last of a large open space where Indian encampments had been regularly established for centuries was dug under and destroyed in the late seventies by the construction of the new interchange with no regards to any historical consideration.
